Mahious linked with Al-Rayyan move after Ligue 1 scoring success
Algerian forward Aimen Mahious is being linked with a move from JS Kabylie to Qatar Stars League club Al-Rayyan.
Mahious, 28, joined JS Kabylie from Swiss side Yverdon Sport in July 2025 and has a contract with the Algerian club until 30 June 2028. The centre-forward finished the 2025-26 Ligue 1 season as the league’s leading scorer, with 14 goals.
The potential move would represent a return to a league outside Algeria for Mahious, who spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at CR Belouizdad after signing for Yverdon Sport in August 2023. He made 27 appearances in the Swiss Super League during his time with the club, scoring seven goals.
Mahious has also featured in African club competition, scoring eight goals in 24 appearances in the CAF Champions League and four in 19 Confederation Cup matches. He was part of the USM Alger side that won the Confederation Cup in 2022-23, when he also finished as the African Nations Championship’s top scorer with five goals.
A move to Al-Rayyan remains a rumour, with no transfer fee or agreement confirmed. Mahious remains a JS Kabylie player under his existing contract, which has two years remaining beyond the current season.
