Troyes eye Montpellier winger Yanis Issoufou as Ligue 1 return gathers interest

Yanis Issoufou, a French-Nigerien winger at Montpellier, has been linked with a move to Troyes as the Ligue 1 club considers a deal for the 19-year-old.

Issoufou is currently with Montpellier in Ligue 2 and has made two appearances in the 2026-27 campaign, scoring once. The left-footed attacker has played 53 minutes so far, contributing to half of Montpellier’s goals in those matches.

The teenager joined Montpellier’s senior squad from the club’s reserve side in July 2025 after progressing through the academy system. He had previously moved from Nimes’ Under-17 team to Montpellier’s Under-19s in 2022 before stepping up to the reserve setup two years later.

Issoufou’s form has taken his listed market value to €1m, while Montpellier remain in a position of contractual strength. His current agreement runs until 30 June 2028, meaning any move to Troyes would require the clubs to reach a transfer agreement rather than wait for the winger to enter the final months of his contract.

Troyes are seeking to bring Issoufou from the second tier to Ligue 1, but the rumour remains at the linked stage and no transfer fee or agreement has been reported. For now, Issoufou remains a Montpellier player under contract through 2028.
