Cedric Omoigui begins Greek chapter with Anagennisi Karditsa switch
Nigeria-Spain forward Cedric Omoigui has opened a new chapter by joining Anagennisi Karditsa from Gimnastic on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with the Greek Super League 2 club until 30 June 2027. Omoigui moves to Greece after a season with Gimnastic in Spain’s Primera Federacion – Group II, having previously played for CF Fuenlabrada.
Omoigui was born in Benin City and holds Nigerian and Spanish nationality. The left-footed striker stands 1.81m tall and has spent most of his career in the Spanish football system, with spells across the second and third tiers.
His career has included 102 appearances and 17 goals in Primera Federacion, as well as 105 matches and 27 goals in Segunda Division B – Grupo III. He also scored 14 goals in 33 appearances in Primera Federacion – Group I and registered 11 goals in 25 games in another Segunda Division B campaign.
Omoigui’s most productive individual season came in 2014-15, when he finished as the top scorer in Segunda Division B – Grupo III with 17 goals.
Before moving to Anagennisi Karditsa, he joined Gimnastic from CF Fuenlabrada on 18 July 2025. His time at Fuenlabrada followed a free transfer from Racing in July 2024, while he had also spent the 2023-24 season on loan at UD Ibiza.
The striker’s earlier career took him through Mouscron in Belgium, RCD Mallorca and their reserve side, Valencia B and Mallorca’s under-19 team. He made seven appearances in the Jupiler Pro League and scored once, while his record in LaLiga2 stands at one goal and one assist from 16 appearances.
Omoigui has also featured in the Copa del Rey, the Copa Federation and the Croky Cup during his career. His move to Anagennisi Karditsa takes him outside Spain for a second time after his previous spell with Mouscron.
The transfer gives Omoigui a new club and a new league, with his agreement in Greece running through the end of June 2027.
