Alaa Abdel-Aal, the head coach of El Gouna FC, has expressed his willingness to allow Ahmed Hossam, the defender for El Gouna, to move to Zamalek during the current winter transfer window, but he insists that any such deal must include a fair financial agreement.
In a telephone interview with presenter Hany Hathout on the “El Match” program on Sada El Balad channel, Abdel-Aal stated, “El Gouna’s participation in the League Cup has been positive during the break in the national team’s involvement in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Entering the League Cup was the right move.”
He added, “We played three matches in the group stage, faced Talaea El Gaish in the quarter-finals, and unfortunately lost on penalties.
The new signings with the team in the tournament have proven beneficial.”
Regarding Zamalek’s interest in signing Ahmed Hossam, Abdel-Aal clarified, “Zamalek signing Ahmed Hossam? This matter has been in discussion for a while, even before the injury to Mahmoud “El Wensh”.
We are not taking advantage of Zamalek’s situation due to El Wensh’s injury. Hossam is a young player, 23 years old, and he is the future of El Gouna.
He has also joined the Olympic national team.”
Alaa Abdel-Aal emphasized, “Ahmed Hossam is a modern full-back and plays well.
There have been verbal negotiations with the player and his agent from Zamalek’s side.
They have contacted El Gouna officials, and the matter is in the hands of El Gouna’s management.
From a technical standpoint, I have no objection to Ahmed Hossam moving to Zamalek.
However, if the financial compensation does not befit El Gouna and the player, it will be challenging.”
He explained further, “We haven’t considered swap deals with players from Zamalek, especially considering Zamalek’s recent struggles with squad registration suspensions and letting go of some players.
I wanted to sign Amr El Sisi, but he joined another team. Roka didn’t suggest moving to El Gouna.
He is a respectful player, and we have talented players in that position.
I don’t think Zamalek will let go of players in a swap deal.”
Alaa Abdel-Aal concluded, “Ahmed Hossam’s position is very rare in Egypt at the moment, and I believe he is one of the best full-backs in Egypt in the coming years.
He is exceptional, playing with both feet, a modern third-back. He must be sold for a respectable amount.
We saw that Zamalek signed Ziyad Kamal from Enppi for a significant loan fee, and I believe Ahmed Hossam is much more important.”
