Ignacio Alonso, the President of the Uruguayan Football Association, revealed the desire of the “Celeste” national team to face the Moroccan national team in a friendly match.
In a statement reported by “Carve deportiva,” Alonso explained that it is highly likely that their team, known as “Los Charrúas,” will face the Moroccan “Atlas Lions” in a European country, with France being the most probable location.
“In the coming hours, we will announce the national team that will face our Uruguay in a friendly.
Our next destination will either take us to China or lead to a friendly match against Morocco in Europe,” Ignacio stated.
The same source emphasized that the Uruguay-Morocco match is likely to take place during the upcoming international break.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team previously faced Uruguay in a friendly in March 2015 at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
The match concluded with a 1-0 victory for “La Celeste,” with Edinson Cavani scoring the decisive goal.
