Tijjani Reijnders joins Al Qadsiah from Manchester City in €61m deal

Tijjani Reijnders has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah from Manchester City in a deal worth €61m.

The Netherlands international has signed a five-year contract with Al Qadsiah and is expected to earn €100m over the duration of the agreement.

Reijnders, who joined Manchester City, made 50 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists. His move to Al Qadsiah brings an end to his spell in England and adds another established international player to the Saudi Arabian side’s squad.

The 2026 Fifa World Cup was also part of Reijnders’ recent international schedule. He represented the Netherlands at the tournament, which was staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Spain won the competition.

Reijnders has won 35 caps for the Netherlands. During those appearances, he has scored seven goals and created four more for his country.

His arrival comes as Al Qadsiah have made a strong start to their domestic campaign. They began the Saudi Pro League with a 3-1 victory over Al-Shabab, before recording an emphatic 5-0 win against Al-Tai in the Saudi King’s Cup.

The midfielder is expected to make his Al Qadsiah debut against Al-Ittihad in the next round of league fixtures on Friday.

Al Qadsiah’s early results mean Reijnders will join a side that has already shown strong attacking form in its opening matches. The club’s 3-1 success against Al-Shabab was followed by an even more convincing cup victory, with five goals scored against Al-Tai and none conceded.

Reijnders’ five-year agreement represents a significant long-term commitment from Al Qadsiah, while the €61m transfer fee makes the move one of the club’s most notable recent signings. The financial terms also provide for the player to receive €100m during his contract.

His first opportunity to play for the club will come against Al-Ittihad on Friday, provided he is selected. That fixture is set to be Reijnders’ first appearance for his new team after completing his transfer from Manchester City.

The move also marks the latest stage in the Netherlands midfielder’s career after his international involvement at the World Cup and his 50-match spell with Manchester City. He now begins a new chapter in Saudi football with Al Qadsiah, who will look to maintain their positive start when they face Al-Ittihad.
