Trabzonspor target Al-Hilal striker Karim Benzema in surprise transfer link
French-Algerian striker Karim Benzema is being linked with a move from Al-Hilal to Turkish club Trabzonspor, with the 38-year-old under contract with the Saudi Pro League side until 30 June 2027.
Benzema joined Al-Hilal on 2 February 2026 and has made a limited but productive start to the current campaign, scoring once in two appearances. He plays as a centre-forward and remains valued at €5m.
The proposed move would take the former France international to the Turkish Super Lig, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Benzema’s career includes five Champions League titles and the 2022 Ballon d’Or, all achieved during his time with Real Madrid. He also won the Saudi Cup with Al-Hilal in the 2025-26 season, adding to the Saudi Cup he claimed with Al-Ittihad in 2024-25.
The forward was named Saudi Pro League Player of the Year in 2025 and has remained one of the division’s most decorated players since moving to Saudi Arabia. His current Al-Hilal contract means any transfer would have to be completed before its expiry or involve an agreement between the clubs.
