Montasser Lahtimi rejoins Fath Union Sport

Moroccan winger Montasser Lahtimi has completed his return to Fath Union Sport, signing a two-year contract with the Rabat-based club.

The 25-year-old is heading back to the team where his professional journey began to take shape in the Moroccan top flight, before going on to experience football in several countries.

Lahtimi has previously featured for clubs including Turkish side Trabzonspor, Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca and Kuwait’s Kazma SC. He spent last season with Renaissance Zemamra, where his performances attracted interest from a number of clubs.

His pace, technical ability, dribbling and creativity made him one of the players attracting attention during the transfer window, with several Moroccan sides monitoring his situation.

Maghreb Fez, FAR Rabat and Raja Casablanca were among the clubs reportedly interested in securing his services, while there was also interest from Egypt.

Despite the competition for his signature, Lahtimi opted for a return to Fath Union Sport, where he is expected to play an important role in the club’s attacking plans.

His previous experience in the Moroccan league, combined with his familiarity with the club, could make his return a significant addition to the Rabat side as they prepare for the new campaign.
