Al Ahly striker Abdullah Aktai suffers injury

Al Ahly have suffered a potential injury setback ahead of their Egyptian Premier League encounter against Al Qanah after striker Abdullah Aktai missed Tuesday’s training session due to pelvic pain.

The Egyptian giants are scheduled to face Al Qanah on Wednesday evening in the seventh round of the league, with the technical staff monitoring the striker’s condition ahead of the fixture.

Al Ahly’s head of medical staff, Dr Ahmed Gaballah, confirmed that Aktai complained of pain in his pelvis and was subsequently left out of the team’s training session at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium in Gezira.

“Abdullah Aktai, the team’s striker, complained of pain in his pelvis and did not participate in the training session that took place this evening at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium in Gezira,” Gaballah said.

The club’s medical team opted to rest the forward to avoid aggravating the problem, while immediately putting a rehabilitation plan in place to support his recovery.

Gaballah explained that the medical staff had prescribed a programme of physical therapy and rehabilitation to prepare Aktai for a return to normal training.

The decision to sideline the striker from Tuesday’s session leaves his availability for Wednesday’s encounter uncertain, with his recovery progress expected to determine whether he can feature against Al Qanah.

Al Ahly will be keen to avoid further injury concerns as they prepare for the fixture, with the club aiming to maintain their position among the leading teams in the Egyptian Premier League.

The Red Devils currently sit second in the league standings with 16 points and will be looking to continue their push towards the top of the table.

However, the technical staff will have to assess Aktai’s condition before making a final decision on his involvement, as the club’s medical team continues to work on his recovery.

With the match approaching, Al Ahly will hope the striker responds positively to treatment and can return to full training without further complications.
