PAEEK Kyrenia sign Guinea winger Buby Katty from Amora FC

Guinea winger Buby Katty has joined PAEEK Kyrenia from Portuguese club Amora FC on a free transfer, giving the Cypriot 2. Division side a new left-sided attacking option.

Katty, 26, completed the move on 17 August 2026 and has signed a contract running until 31 May 2027. The left-footed forward was registered with Amora in Portugal’s CP – Serie D before switching to PAEEK, who play in Cyprus’ second tier.

The move follows a short spell at Amora, where Katty arrived from fellow Portuguese club Paredes on 30 January 2026, also as a free transfer. His career has largely been built in Portugal, with previous spells at Amarante, Gondomar, Tirsense, Leca, Sertanense and Vieira.

Katty began his senior career after leaving Gil Vicente’s under-19 side for Vieira in 2019. He subsequently moved through a number of Portuguese clubs before making his first move outside the country in March 2025, when he joined Moldova’s Zimbru Chisinau from Amarante. He returned to Portugal four months later with Paredes.

His recorded appearances include 32 in Liga 3, in which he provided two assists, and 13 in the Taca de Portugal, where he added one assist. He also scored twice in seven appearances in the Super Liga phase 2 and once in three matches during the Liga 3 promotion phase. The figures underline a playing history that has included both domestic league and cup football across Portugal and Moldova.

Born in Conakry, Katty is listed at 1.81m and operates primarily from the left wing. His arrival gives PAEEK a player with experience across several lower-division campaigns in Portugal, as well as a spell in Moldovan football, as the club prepares for the 2026-27 season.

Katty’s career has been characterised by frequent moves completed without a transfer fee, with his switch to PAEEK marking the latest change of club. He leaves Amora after less than seven months and becomes a PAEEK player under contract through the end of May 2027.
