Ramy Bensebaïni's future at Borussia Dortmund under scrutiny

Galatasaray and Napoli have reportedly expressed interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaïni, but the German club currently intend to keep the Algeria international until the end of his contract.

Bensebaïni has entered the final year of his deal with Dortmund, placing his future under increasing scrutiny as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.

The 31-year-old defender, who began his career at Paradou AC, has attracted attention from clubs in both Turkey and Italy.

Galatasaray have renewed their interest in the Algerian after previously considering a move for him during the winter transfer window.

The Turkish club are once again monitoring Bensebaïni’s situation and are reportedly keen to complete a transfer before the summer window closes.

However, Galatasaray are not the only club keeping track of the defender.

In Italy, Napoli have made enquiries about Bensebaïni’s contractual situation at Dortmund. The Italian club, however, are not currently looking to make an immediate move.

Instead, Napoli are reportedly considering the possibility of signing the Algeria international as a free agent once his Dortmund contract expires next June.

That approach could allow Napoli to wait until Bensebaïni becomes available without a transfer fee, provided he remains at the German club until the end of his current agreement.

There is also further interest in the defender, with two other European clubs reportedly monitoring developments. Their identities have not been disclosed.

Borussia Dortmund are aware of the growing attention surrounding their player but have so far shown no intention of changing their position.

The German club are prepared to retain Bensebaïni until his contract expires next June.

Their stance could only change if an unusually attractive offer arrives before the transfer window closes.

As things stand, no formal extension has been offered to Bensebaïni by Dortmund.

That leaves the defender’s long-term future unresolved, with the possibility of remaining in Germany until the end of his contract or moving elsewhere before the window closes.

For Galatasaray, the situation offers an opportunity to revive a move they previously explored, while Napoli appear to be taking a longer-term approach.

Bensebaïni’s contract situation has therefore created several possibilities for the coming months.

Dortmund’s preference remains clear: keep the Algerian international for the final year of his deal rather than allow him to leave immediately.

Unless a significant offer changes that position, Bensebaïni is expected to remain with the German club as he enters the final season of his current contract.
