Ivorian forward Elye Wahi closes in OGC Nice return after agreeing personal terms

Ivorian striker Elye Wahi is reportedly edging closer to a return to Nice after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the French club.

Wahi, who spent last season on loan at Nice, is once again at the centre of negotiations between the Ligue 1 side and his parent club Eintracht Frankfurt as the French club looks to bring him back ahead of the new campaign.

Talks between the two clubs are understood to have reached an advanced stage, with Nice keen to secure the services of the Ivorian international following his productive spell in France last season.

According to reports, Nice and Eintracht Frankfurt are close to reaching an agreement for another loan move, this time with an option to buy included in the deal.

While the proposed transfer has not yet been officially completed, the progress made in negotiations has increased confidence that Wahi could once again wear the Nice shirt.

The 23-year-old forward enjoyed an important spell with Nice during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.

His contribution proved valuable as Nice battled to retain their Ligue 1 status, with Wahi playing a significant role in helping the club avoid relegation.

That impact has reportedly convinced Nice to pursue a permanent or extended arrangement for the striker, with the club now working to finalise an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt.

For Wahi, a return to Nice would provide an opportunity to continue playing in familiar surroundings and build on the form he showed during his previous spell.

The Ivorian international will also be looking to secure regular playing time as he continues to develop his career at the highest level.
