Pyramids agree deal to sign Algerian striker Ahmed Nadhir Benbouali

Pyramids have reached an agreement to sign Algerian striker Ahmed Nadhir Benbouali from Hungarian club Gyori Torna es Evezos Egylet, with the player due to arrive on Saturday evening to complete the transfer.

Benbouali is expected to sign a three-year contract with Pyramids, with the agreement including an option to extend his stay for a further season.

The 26-year-old forward has been identified as the club’s replacement for Fiston Mayele, who left Pyramids at the end of last season. The Egyptian side have moved to strengthen their attacking options after the departure of the Tanzania international.

Benbouali has been playing for the Hungarian club since the start of last season, having joined from Belgian side Charleroi. During his time in Hungary, he has made 41 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists.

However, he has not featured in any match since the beginning of the current season. His arrival in Egypt on Saturday will allow the remaining formalities of the move to be completed before he puts pen to paper on his contract.

The agreement for Benbouali represents Pyramids’ latest move in the transfer market as the club reshapes its squad. The forward’s record in Hungary is expected to add another attacking option to the team, with his goalscoring figures and experience in European football forming part of the profile behind the deal.

Pyramids have already completed the signings of Ahmed Abdel Kader, Eyad El-Askalany and Khaled Awad during the current transfer window.

Benbouali’s move will be finalised once the player completes the required procedures and signs the contract. Subject to that completion, he will become the latest addition to Pyramids’ squad and the club’s chosen successor to Mayele in attack.
