Kgomotso Mosadi becomes a free agent after leaving Magesi FC

Kgomotso Mosadi is a free agent after reaching an agreement with Magesi FC to leave the club following their relegation from the Betway Premiership to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder had been with Magesi FC since pre-season, but negotiations over a new contract failed to produce an agreement, with salary emerging as the main point of difference.

The move was confirmed by Mosadi’s representative, Pontsho Madumo of Cream Sports Management, who said the player and club had decided that separating was the best outcome for both sides.

“He’s now a free agent. We reached an agreement this week to part ways,” said Madumo.

“He was with the team since pre-season, but we were in discussions all along over a new deal. In the end, we agreed it was best for all parties to part ways, mainly because we couldn’t reach an agreement over his salary,” he added.

Mosadi joined Magesi FC just over a year ago from University of Pretoria and quickly became a regular member of the team during their top-flight campaign.

He made 27 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist. His departure means he is now available to clubs looking to strengthen their squads ahead of the new campaign.

Magesi FC’s relegation from the Betway Premiership to the Motsepe Foundation Championship has helped shape the circumstances surrounding the player’s exit. Although Mosadi had remained involved with the team from pre-season, the two parties were unable to settle on terms for a new contract.

Madumo’s comments indicate that the decision was reached by mutual consent rather than through a unilateral cancellation of the existing arrangement. With the agreement now finalised, Mosadi can consider offers from other clubs as a free agent.

The attacking midfielder’s experience in the top flight and his record of 27 appearances last season will form part of his profile as he assesses his next move. His three goals and one assist came during Magesi FC’s most recent campaign across all competitions.

Mosadi’s release was reported by Soccer Laduma on 14 August 2026. He arrived at Magesi FC after his spell with University of Pretoria and spent just over a year at the club.

Magesi’s relegation means the club will compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, while Mosadi will now be free to pursue a new opportunity elsewhere. No next club has been confirmed for the player.
