Mohammed Dauda joins CD Lugo for 2026-27 season

Ghanaian forward Mohammed Dauda has completed a move to Spanish side CD Lugo, signing a one-year contract that will keep him at the club throughout the 2026-27 season.

The 28-year-old arrives at the Anxo Carro with extensive European experience and more than 100 appearances across Spain’s Segunda Division and Primera Federacion.

Born in Larabanga in 1998, Dauda is a right-footed, pacey forward who usually operates from the left wing but can play across the attack. Lugo expect his direct running, flexibility and ability to create danger in the final third to strengthen their frontline.

Dauda began his European career at Anderlecht, where he made a UEFA Europa League appearance in 2018-19. He later played for Vitesse, contributing three goals and one assist in 16 Eredivisie matches, and scored five goals with two assists in 25 games for Denmark’s Esbjerg fB.

His previous spell in Spain included a strong first season at FC Cartagena, where he registered nine goals and three assists in 38 league and Copa del Rey appearances. He also represented Tenerife, Eldense and Ibiza before playing 26 times and scoring twice for Portimonense last season.

Dauda now returns to Spanish football seeking to make an immediate impact for Lugo.
