Chelsea target Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara of Monaco

Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara is the subject of reported interest from Chelsea, with the 22-year-old currently playing for Monaco.

Camara has made four appearances for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, starting 75% of those matches and contributing one assist. The central midfielder joined Monaco from FC Metz in July 2024 in a deal worth €15m.

He has since established a significant Ligue 1 record, featuring 84 times in the competition and registering six goals and 15 assists. Camara has also played 15 matches in the Champions League.

His current market value is listed at €40m, reflecting a substantial increase since his move to Monaco. The French club remain in a strong contractual position, with Camara’s deal running until 30 June 2029.

Camara began his senior career at Senegalese club Casa Sports before moving to Generation Foot and then FC Metz. He won the African Nations Championship with Senegal in the 2022-23 season and also helped the country’s under-20 side win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.

There is no indication that a transfer to Chelsea has been agreed, and Camara remains a Monaco player under a long-term contract.
