Mohamed Diomande: Corum FK complete €5.6m signing of Ivory Coast-Ghana midfielder

Ivory Coast and Ghana midfielder Mohamed Diomande has joined Turkish club Corum FK from Rangers in a €5.6m transfer, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2029.

The 24-year-old central midfielder leaves Rangers after two-and-a-half years with the Scottish club. He initially moved to Rangers on loan from Danish side Nordsjaelland in January 2024 before returning to the club permanently in July of the same year for €5m.

Diomande began the 2026-27 campaign with one appearance in the Scottish Premiership and another in Europa League qualifying for Rangers. He completed 90 minutes in each match before switching leagues and moving to Turkey.

Born in Yopougon, Diomande stands 1.83m tall and is left-footed. His arrival gives Corum FK a midfielder with experience in Scotland’s top flight and European qualifying competition as the club add to their squad for the new season.

The move follows Diomande’s four-year spell with Nordsjaelland, where he first established himself in European football after joining the Danish side from Ghanaian academy Right to Dream in January 2020 on a free transfer.

His first spell at Rangers came during the second half of the 2023-24 season. After the loan ended in June, Rangers made the transfer permanent the following month, with Diomande then continuing his career in Scotland before completing his latest move.

The transfer fee of €5.6m is below Diomande’s current €7m market valuation. His highest recorded valuation has been €8m.

Diomande now begins a new chapter in the Turkish Super Lig with Corum FK, having left Rangers on 12 August 2026. His contract with the Turkish club lasts until 30 June 2029.
