AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates name teams for Betway Premiership meeting

Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu have confirmed their starting line-ups for their Betway Premiership match at Kings Park Stadium, with both teams looking to build on winning league openers.

The Buccaneers have named Kouassi, Radebe, Hanamub, Mthethwa, Fielies, Mdaka, Hlangabeza, Zikhali, Ngwenya, Maqokolo and Mbanjwa in their starting XI.

Pirates began their league campaign with victory over Milford and will be seeking successive wins in the competition. They also made a positive start to their MTN8 title defence last weekend, beating Durban City.

Their substitutes are Dladla, Kgositsile, Masilela, Zulu, Mokobodi, Mthiyane, Radiopane, Appollis and Hotto.

AmaZulu have selected Chaine, Sebelebele, Seema, Sibisi, Ndaba, Dansin, Nduli, Lungu, Maswanganyi, Moremi and Mbuthuma for the match.

Usuthu also opened their league campaign with three points, securing a win against Stellenbosch FC a week ago. They will now attempt to carry that form into their meeting with Pirates, despite exiting the MTN8 after losing to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

AmaZulu’s substitutes are Mzimela, Phillips, Bern, Mhlongo, Sithole, Moralo, Mokoena, Thawed and Mashigo.

The two sides therefore arrive at Kings Park Stadium with league victories already behind them, although their most recent MTN8 experiences were contrasting. Pirates progressed with a win over Durban City, while AmaZulu’s run in the competition ended against Sekhukhune United.

For the Buccaneers, the match presents an opportunity to make it back-to-back victories at the beginning of their Betway Premiership campaign. AmaZulu, meanwhile, will be aiming to respond to their MTN8 disappointment by adding to the win recorded against Stellenbosch FC.
