Orlando Pirates name starting XI for AmaZulu clash after MTN8 extra-time win

Orlando Pirates return to Betway Premiership action on Tuesday evening when they travel to KwaZulu-Natal to face AmaZulu at Jonsson Kings Park Stadium.

The Buccaneers arrive after being pushed into extra-time by Durban City in the MTN8 on Saturday, before eventually securing a 3-2 victory.

They began their league campaign with a 2-0 win over newly-promoted opposition last weekend and will be hoping to maintain that winning momentum against AmaZulu.

Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou confirmed on Saturday that defender Nkosinathi Sibisi suffered an injury during the MTN8 match. Despite that concern, Sibisi is named in the starting XI for the trip to Durban.

AmaZulu are also looking to respond after their MTN8 quarter-final ended in disappointment. Arthur Zwane’s side were beaten by Sekhukhune United in extra-time on Sunday afternoon.

Like Pirates, AmaZulu opened their Betway Premiership campaign with three points, edging Stellenbosch FC 1-0 last weekend.

The match takes place on 12 August 2026, with both teams seeking to build on their positive league starts while recovering from demanding MTN8 ties.
