FC Porto join Liverpool and Aston Villa in race for PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye

FC Porto have joined Liverpool and Aston Villa in monitoring Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, whose future at the French club remains uncertain.

The Portuguese side are understood to have added the young Senegalese player to their list of potential targets and could make an approach in the coming weeks, according to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira. Porto’s aim would be to complete a deal before the summer transfer window closes.

Mbaye remains under contract with PSG until June 2028, meaning the Parisian club still hold a strong negotiating position if interest in the winger develops into formal offers. His age, potential and ability to play in wide attacking positions have attracted attention from several European clubs looking to invest in young players who can contribute over the long term.

Liverpool and Aston Villa were already reported to be following the situation before FC Porto emerged as another possible destination. The level of competition for Mbaye’s signature could increase as the transfer market approaches its final weeks.

Transfermarkt values the Senegal international at 30m euros. That valuation could lead to further approaches from clubs seeking to secure his services, although PSG have yet to make clear whether they intend to retain him, loan him out or consider a permanent transfer.

Mbaye is also reportedly being monitored by Borussia Dortmund, according to an exclusive report by Africafoot. The interest from Dortmund adds another prominent European club to the list of teams linked with the winger.

In France, Mbaye earns 910,000 euros per year, equivalent to 591,500,000 CFA francs. His existing contract and current valuation will be important factors in any discussions over his future.

PSG are also preparing for their upcoming European Super Cup match against Aston Villa. The fixture provides an additional connection between Mbaye’s transfer situation and one of the clubs previously linked with him.

Betting company 1xbet has listed PSG as favourites for the match, offering odds of 1.80 for a Paris Saint-Germain victory. A draw is priced at 3.95, while an Aston Villa win is listed at 4.30.

The immediate focus for PSG is therefore both the meeting with Aston Villa and the decisions required over Mbaye’s development. With FC Porto now added to the clubs tracking him, and Liverpool, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund also reportedly interested, the Senegalese winger’s position at Parc des Princes could become one of the stories to follow before the transfer window shuts.
