Stade Tunisien sign Tunisia winger Baraket Hmidi from Diyala

Tunisia winger Baraket Hmidi has joined Stade Tunisien from Iraqi club Diyala, completing a move that brings the 23-year-old back to his home country.

Hmidi, who plays on the right wing, made the switch on 10 August 2026 after leaving Diyala of the Iraq Stars League for Stade Tunisien, who compete in Tunisia’s Ligue 1. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

The Gabes-born attacker is listed at 1.84m and is naturally left-footed, giving Stade Tunisien a wide option who operates from the right side while favouring his stronger foot inside. He will continue his career in Tunisian football after his spell in Iraq.

Hmidi’s arrival marks a change of league and country following his time with Diyala. His previous club competed in Iraq’s top division, while his new side play in the highest level of the Tunisian game.

The player’s recorded market value is €350,000, although that figure is separate from the transfer fee and does not establish what Stade Tunisien paid for his services. Hmidi holds Tunisian nationality and has previously been associated with Stade Tunisien at national-club level.

The move was completed during the summer transfer period, with Hmidi joining Stade Tunisien at the age of 23. His profile is defined by his position on the right flank, left-foot preference and experience of football outside Tunisia.

Stade Tunisien have secured Hmidi’s services through 30 June 2029, confirming a long-term agreement for the Tunisian winger.
