Demba Diop FC has bid farewell to coach Boubacar Diarra, who faced the axe on Saturday due to unsatisfactory results. Placed at the 14th spot with a mere 8 points out of 39, the Mbourois club has swiftly appointed Mamadou Ndiaye, known as “Pa Ngueye,” as the new helmsman to navigate them through the challenges of Ligue 2.
Taking the reins from El Hadji Seck at the beginning of the season, Boubacar Diarra’s tenure proved short-lived, marked by a series of lackluster performances.
With a dismal record of 9 defeats, 2 draws, and 2 victories in 13 matches during the initial phase, the decision-makers at Demba Diop FC opted for change in leadership.
Mamadou Ndiaye, a seasoned figure in football coaching with experience at DSFA Academy, a regional division club, as well as stints with Diamagueune FC, Olympique Somone, and Stade de Mbour, has been entrusted with the responsibility to orchestrate a turnaround.
Affectionately nicknamed “Pa Ngueye,” the 59-year-old coach faces the daunting task of steering Demba Diop FC away from the relegation zone and towards a more competitive position in Ligue 2.
The challenges for the newly-appointed coach commence promptly, with Demba Diop FC scheduled to host Diambars FC (L1) in a crucial League Cup match on Sunday.
Mamadou Ndiaye’s wealth of experience and tactical acumen will be put to the test as he aims to instill a fresh sense of vigor and resilience in the team, with the ultimate goal of securing their standing in Ligue 2 for the remainder of the season.
