Algeria face Malawi as 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final line-up is confirmed

The semi-final line-up for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has been confirmed after the quarter-finals were completed on Sunday, 9 August, with Algeria set to face Malawi and hosts Morocco taking on Cameroon.

The first semi-final will see Algeria’s Green side meet an ambitious Malawi team on Wednesday, 12 August. Algeria will need to produce a strong performance if they are to reach the final, with Malawi now standing between them and a place in the competition’s showpiece match.

The two teams will meet in the opening fixture of the day, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00.

The second semi-final will feature Morocco, the host nation, against Cameroon. Cameroon booked their place in the last four by defeating Nigeria in the quarter-finals, setting up a meeting with the hosts.

That match will begin at 20:00 on Wednesday.

The completion of the quarter-finals has provided a clear picture of the remaining route to the final. Algeria and Malawi will contest the first available place, before Morocco and Cameroon battle for the second.
