Newcastle United make Omar Marmoush a priority as transfer interest grows

Newcastle United have identified Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush as one of their leading targets and are prepared to meet the financial demands attached to a potential deal, according to CaughtOffside.

The Egyptian international is understood to have moved to the top of Newcastle’s list as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options. The expected asking price is between €60m and €65m, a figure the English club would reportedly be willing to consider if it decides to formalise its interest.

No concrete approach has yet been made to Manchester City for Marmoush. Newcastle are, however, believed to be well placed in the developing transfer situation and could make their move quickly if the circumstances become favourable.

The 27-year-old remains under contract with Manchester City until June 2029, meaning the Premier League club are in a strong negotiating position. Although his current market value is estimated at €50m by Transfermarkt, Manchester City’s valuation could push the final cost of any transfer above that figure.

Marmoush’s reported annual salary is €17,183,908, equivalent to 11,169,540,200 FCFA. That financial commitment would also form part of the considerations for any club attempting to secure his services.

Newcastle are not the only side monitoring the forward’s position. Tottenham are following developments closely, while FC Barcelona are also keeping an eye on his future. With several potential suitors watching the situation, the next move from any of the interested clubs could have a significant effect on the negotiations.

At present, Newcastle’s interest has not gone beyond identifying Marmoush as a priority target. There has been no reported offer to Manchester City, but the possibility of an approach remains open should the terms of a deal become more favourable for the club.

The transfer situation comes as Newcastle prepare for their opening English league fixture against Liverpool. For that match, the betting company 1xbet lists Newcastle United at odds of 3.05 to win, with a draw priced at 3.65 and Liverpool at 1.93. The company also states that 1xbet can be downloaded.

Marmoush’s contract length, his valuation and the level of interest from Tottenham and FC Barcelona all mean that Newcastle may face a competitive process if they decide to pursue the deal. Manchester City’s ability to demand a fee above Transfermarkt’s estimate could also prove central to whether the proposed move develops into formal negotiations.

For now, the Egyptian forward remains a Manchester City player, while Newcastle continue to assess whether to turn their interest into an official approach.
