Al Shamal close to announcing Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane signing
Al Shamal are preparing to officially announce the signing of Tunisia international Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane from Al Ahly, with the Qatari club completing the final administrative procedures required to confirm the move.
The details of the transfer have already been agreed between Al Ahly and Al Shamal, according to information previously reported by FilGoal.com. Ben Romdhane is expected to complete his switch to the Qatari side within a few days, once the relevant contracts have been signed.
The final formalities are understood to be the only remaining steps before Al Shamal can make the transfer public. Qatar newspaper Al Raya reported that the club is working to conclude those procedures before issuing its official announcement.
Al Ahly confirmed the departure of Ben Romdhane after he spent one season with the Egyptian club. The Tunisia international joined Al Ahly at the start of the current season from Hungarian side Ferencvarosi, having arrived after his spell with the Budapest club.
Ben Romdhane did not travel with the Al Ahly squad to Spain for the team’s preparations for the new season. His absence from the travelling party came as discussions over his move to Al Shamal reached their final stage.
During his single season with Al Ahly, Ben Romdhane played 36 matches, scoring two goals and providing four assists. He will now continue his career in Qatar once the transfer documentation has been completed and the contracts have been formally signed.
Al Shamal’s official confirmation is therefore expected shortly, with the club currently focused on finalising the administrative requirements separating the agreement from the announcement.
