AC Milan unveil bold black and fluorescent red third kit for 2026-27
AC Milan and PUMA have revealed the club’s third kit for the 2026/27 season, with the Rossoneri presenting a striking reinterpretation of their traditional colours.
The new shirt is built around a predominantly black design, with fluorescent red detailing providing a vivid contrast. It retains a clear connection to AC Milan’s identity while taking the club’s familiar colour scheme in a more contemporary direction.
Its most distinctive feature is the UV-reactive detailing. The elements change character under different lighting conditions, helping bring the “Rossoneri in a new light” concept to life.
The design is intended to offer a fresh visual interpretation of one of football’s most recognisable identities without moving away from the colours that have long defined AC Milan.
PUMA VP Teamsport Dominique Gathier said the club’s heritage was central to the approach taken when developing the shirt.
“Rossonero is one of the most recognizable identities in world football. AC Milan’s supporters have seen it thousands of times, and it means everything to them. That’s exactly why we approached this shirt with restraint.
“Every design decision here is in service of the same idea: take what already matters most to Milan fans and push it somewhere it hasn’t been before. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to with a club like this.”
The kit reflects an attempt to balance innovation with familiarity. While the black base and fluorescent red accents give it a noticeably different appearance, the design continues to draw directly on the Rossoneri colours and the significance they hold for the club’s supporters.
AC Milan Chief Revenue Officer Maikel Oettle said the third kit provided an opportunity to explore new ideas while preserving the club’s identity.
“AC Milan tells its own story through what it stands for, and the Rossoneri colours are its most immediate expression.
“For the Club, the Third Kit is an opportunity for innovation: this jersey takes our traditional colours into new territory, where football meets contemporary culture. This is how we keep evolving while remaining recognisable in every era.”
The authentic version of the shirt will use PUMA’s ULTRAWEAVE, dryCELL and ThermoAdapt technologies. The Replica version is made from 95% recycled polyester.
The launch comes as AC Milan continue to express their established visual identity through different interpretations of the Rossoneri colours. The new third kit’s lighting-responsive details are designed to give the shirt a changing appearance, distinguishing it from a conventional black-and-red design.
PUMA and AC Milan’s latest collaboration therefore places the focus on a familiar foundation used in an unfamiliar way. The result is a third kit centred on black, enhanced by fluorescent red and shaped by UV-reactive details, while remaining recognisably linked to the club’s traditional colours.
