Petro de Luanda deny transfer reports, confirm talks with Depú

Angolan giants Petro de Luanda have moved to clarify their position on recent transfer speculation, denying several reports linking the club with potential signings while confirming that discussions have taken place with striker Depú.

The club acknowledged that talks have been held with the forward, but stressed that no agreement has been reached between the two parties. Petro de Luanda’s statement comes amid growing reports suggesting that a deal for the striker was close.

However, the club insisted that negotiations remain incomplete and that no official announcement can be made at this stage.

Petro de Luanda also rejected claims that they are pursuing a move for defender Bastos Quissanga, describing reports linking the experienced centre-back with a return to the club as inaccurate.

The Angolan giants stated that there have been no negotiations or contact with Bastos regarding a possible transfer.

The club further expressed concern over what it described as inaccurate information circulating in the media and online, particularly reports involving transfer fees, player salaries and contract details.

Petro de Luanda maintained that several figures and claims being reported are false, urging supporters and the public to rely on official communication from the club for accurate updates on transfer matters.

The clarification comes during a busy transfer period, with several African clubs strengthening their squads ahead of upcoming domestic and continental competitions.
