In a major announcement on its official website, Al-Ahly has confirmed the acquisition of Ahmed Aabdin, a defender from the youth team, on a five-year contract.
This decision follows Aabdin’s promotion to the first team, earning high praise from the Swiss coach Marcel Koller for his promising skills.
Aabdin officially signed his new contract with Al-Ahly in the presence of Walid Suleiman, the Head of Youth Sector, and Badr Ragab, the Technical Director of the sector.
In addition to Aabdin, Al-Ahly has also secured the signings of two young Ghanaian players, Samuel Obeng from MSK Zilina and Rendolf Adom Sarbah from Chita.
The club successfully secured the signatures of the foreign duo for four and a half seasons, with both players falling under the age category for registration.
This move aligns with Al-Ahly’s strategy of recruiting young African talents, aiming to benefit from their contributions to the first team or explore future financial gains through potential sales.
Samuel Obeng and Rendolf Adom Sarbah previously underwent trial periods in the youth sector of the club, receiving commendations from Walid Suleiman and Badr Ragab for their performances.
The trio’s simultaneous signing represents a strategic move by Al-Ahly to strengthen its squad with a blend of homegrown talent and promising African players.
The club’s forward-thinking approach not only aims to elevate the team’s current competitiveness but also positions them strategically for future success.
