Fenerbahce target Endrick as Mohamed Salah transfer sends shockwaves through Turkey’s market

Fenerbahce have entered the race to sign Real Madrid forward Endrick, with the Turkish club looking to respond to the major impact of Mohamed Salah’s move to Trabzonspor.

The arrival of the Egypt international, described in Turkey as a historic deal, has transformed the early days of the Turkish transfer market. Within hours of Trabzonspor completing the signing of the “King of Egypt”, one of Istanbul’s biggest clubs began exploring a move for Endrick, the highly rated Brazilian striker.

Fenerbahce are understood to be considering a deal for the 20-year-old as they attempt to match the publicity generated by their rivals on the Black Sea coast. The Istanbul club has made an initial approach in a transfer race that also includes Italian sides Fiorentina and Roma.

Endrick’s future at Real Madrid has become increasingly uncertain since Jose Mourinho returned to the club’s managerial position. Reports suggest the forward could leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer, either on loan or through a permanent transfer, before the current transfer window closes.

Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu reported on X that Endrick had told Real Madrid’s management he wanted to leave permanently in search of more regular playing time. The Brazilian is reportedly keen to secure a role that would allow him to play more consistently than he has in Madrid.

However, Fenerbahce’s interest has not yet developed into formal negotiations. Doruk Cicek, a TRT Spor reporter who covers the club, said the Turkish side had so far limited its involvement to an official enquiry with Endrick’s representatives.

That enquiry was intended to establish the player’s financial demands and the broader conditions he would require for a transfer. Fenerbahce have not, at this stage, submitted a formal offer or begun detailed talks with Real Madrid.

Cicek added that Real Madrid would not stand in the way of Endrick leaving. The principal difficulty, he said, was the player’s own preference: Endrick currently regards a move to the Premier League as his priority.

The interest from Fenerbahce therefore remains at an early stage, while Fiorentina and Roma continue to be linked with the forward. A move to Turkey would represent a significant change in direction for Endrick, but there is no indication yet that the player has made the Turkish league his preferred destination.

Even so, Fenerbahce’s decision to investigate the possibility of signing one of Real Madrid’s most prominent young players underlines the effect of Salah’s transfer to Trabzonspor. The deal has raised expectations across Turkish football and prompted leading clubs to pursue headline-making signings of their own.

For now, Endrick remains a Real Madrid player, and Fenerbahce’s interest amounts only to an initial enquiry. But the Istanbul club’s involvement has added another contender to a developing race for the Brazilian forward and further intensified the transfer activity surrounding Turkey’s biggest teams.
