Kaiserslautern linked with Frankfurt striker Noel Futkeu after prolific season

Frankfurt forward Noel Futkeu, the German-Cameroonian striker, is being linked with a move to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga.

Futkeu, 23, joined Frankfurt from Greuther Furth on 1 July 2026 in a transfer recorded at €1.3m. The reported interest comes shortly after he finished the 2025-26 campaign as the 2. Bundesliga’s leading scorer, with 19 goals for Furth.

That season followed a productive spell in the division for the centre-forward, who has scored 30 goals and provided eight assists in 68 2. Bundesliga appearances. He also finished as the Oberliga Niederrhein’s leading scorer in 2022-23, recording 30 goals.

Futkeu’s current market value is listed at €7.5m, more than five times the fee Frankfurt paid to sign him from Furth. He had previously joined Frankfurt’s second team from local club Schwarz-Weiß Essen in 2023 before moving to Furth a year later.

The Kaiserslautern link would see the club pursue a player who has only recently moved into Frankfurt’s first-team setup. No transfer fee or probability has been established for the proposed move, while Futkeu remains registered as a right-footed centre-forward at the Bundesliga club.
