Belkacem Dali-Amar leaves SM Caen to begin new chapter as a free agent

French-Algerian attacking midfielder Belkacem Dali-Amar is without a club after leaving SM Caen, bringing his time with the Ligue 3 side to an end on 5 August 2026.

Dali-Amar, 28, joined Caen from QRM on a free transfer on 7 July 2025. He had spent the previous part of the 2024-25 season at QRM, having arrived from Aubagne FC in September 2024. His departure from Caen marks another change in a career that has included spells with several French clubs.

The Martigues-born player operates primarily in attacking midfield and is capable of using either foot. He stands 1.80m tall and has also played in France’s lower divisions, representing FC Martigues, Chamois Niort, Marignane GFC, Cote Bleue and AS Gemenos.

Dali-Amar’s career record includes 70 appearances, 13 goals and eight assists in Ligue 3. He has also scored 19 goals in 57 National 1 – Group C matches, while adding 15 goals in 32 National 2 – Group A appearances. In the Coupe de France, he has seven goals from 14 matches.

His most productive scoring record came in National 2 – Group A, where he averaged a goal every 140 minutes. He also averaged a goal every 239 minutes in National 1 – Group C and every 352 minutes in Ligue 3.

Before joining Caen, Dali-Amar’s career had largely been built through moves between French clubs. He joined FC Martigues from the club’s under-19 team in 2016, later moving to Foresta Suceava, AS Gemenos and Cote Bleue before establishing himself at senior level with Marignane GFC and Aubagne FC.

His highest recorded market value was €500,000 in July 2025, when he moved to Caen. His listed value stood at €200,000 at the time of his departure.

Dali-Amar has now left SM Caen and is officially without a club.
