Paris FC consider contract extension for Adama Camara amid transfer interest

Paris FC are determined to keep Adama Camara for next season despite interest from RC Lens, with discussions over a possible contract extension reportedly having taken place between the midfielder and the Parisian club.

Camara has emerged as an important member of the Paris FC squad and is now expected to remain with the club. The French-Malian defensive midfielder is under contract until 30 June 2027, but his performances and status within the team have attracted attention from several clubs.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Paris FC and Camara have discussed extending his current agreement. Those talks would underline the club’s intention to retain one of its key players rather than allow him to leave in response to interest from Lens or other sides.

Paris FC’s position reflects a wider preference for stability. The club’s leadership wants to preserve the core of its squad as it prepares to build a competitive team in Ligue 1, with established players such as Camara viewed as central to that project.

RC Lens are understood to be looking to strengthen their midfield and had identified Camara as a potential target. However, the player’s likely continuation in Paris means that route now appears increasingly difficult for the northern club. Lens will probably have to consider alternative options in the transfer market if it is unable to reach an agreement for the 29-year-old.

The interest in Camara extends beyond RC Lens. Foot Mercato reports that OGC Nice and PSV Eindhoven are also monitoring the midfielder, while a number of clubs from the Gulf region are said to have shown interest. Among them is Al Jazira.

Despite that competition for his signature, Paris FC are prioritising the retention of Camara and their other senior players. The club would therefore prefer to consolidate its squad rather than respond to approaches from Lens, OGC Nice, PSV Eindhoven, Al Jazira or other interested teams.

Camara’s existing contract gives Paris FC a degree of protection, with his deal running for another year beyond the 2025-26 season. His market value is estimated at €3m by Transfermarkt.

For Paris FC, keeping Camara would support their ambition to establish a strong Ligue 1 squad around players already familiar with the club’s plans. For Lens, meanwhile, the midfielder’s potential renewal means its attempt to reinforce the centre of the pitch may require a change of direction.

The situation leaves Camara well placed to stay at Paris FC, while the reported extension discussions could provide a clearer indication of the club’s long-term intentions. No agreement has been announced, but the Parisian side’s preference is understood to be retaining the midfielder rather than selling him this summer.
