Mohamed Salah set to arrive in Trabzon as fans urged to follow organised welcome plans

Trabzonspor have announced that Mohamed Salah is expected to arrive at Trabzon Airport at 20:00 local time today, with the Turkish club calling on supporters to ensure his welcome is safe and orderly.

The club has asked fans planning to attend the airport to travel in as many private cars as possible in an effort to reduce congestion. It also appealed to supporters not to set off large numbers of flares, warning that this could create safety risks and interfere with air traffic.

Trabzonspor said the measures were intended to ensure that Salah’s arrival ceremony could take place safely and in an organised manner.

The Egypt international is currently undergoing a medical examination in Turkey as he prepares to complete his move to the club. Salah arrived at Acibadem Maslak Hospital in Turkey for the tests, ahead of formally joining the team.

A number of supporters gathered outside the hospital to welcome the forward when he arrived.

Salah reached Turkey early on Tuesday in preparation for his official transfer to Trabzonspor. He wore a Trabzonspor shirt for the first time on the plane after arriving in the country, signalling his imminent move before the final formalities are completed.

The player also addressed the club’s supporters in a message, saying: “Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you, and I will see you for the first time.”

Salah is expected to complete his medical examination in Trabzon before signing his contract with the Turkish club. The agreement is set to run for two seasons.

Under the reported terms, Salah will earn 17m euros per season, in addition to other clauses and bonuses.

Trabzonspor’s announcement focused on preparations for the player’s arrival at the airport, with the club seeking to manage the anticipated crowd and avoid disruption. Supporters have therefore been asked to cooperate with the instructions on transport and the use of flares as the club prepares to present Salah to the fans.

The planned reception follows a day of activity surrounding the forward’s proposed transfer. After travelling to Turkey, Salah visited the Acibadem Maslak Hospital for his medical, while fans waited outside to greet him. His appearance in a Trabzonspor shirt further underlined the expectation that the move will be completed once the medical and contract-signing procedures have concluded.
