Djurgarden see second Abdul Abdulmalik bid rejected

Djurgarden are still trying to land Abdul Abdulmalik from Boreham Wood, but their latest offer has also been rejected.

The English club remain firm in negotiations, even after the Stockholm side increased their bid in an effort to get the deal done.

Abdulmalik enjoyed a productive season in the National League, where his goalscoring drew attention from clubs outside England.

Abdul gained his first experience of football with a youth loan at the beginning of last season, seeing him join National League side, Wealdstone. This experience proved vital with the young forward getting his first taste of National League football.

Over his time at Millwall, Abdulmalik tasted success on a number of occasions, most notable being a key figure in back to back Premier League Professional Development League title wins, both in the 2023/24 campaign and the 2022/23 season.

Djurgarden first offered 750,000 pounds, before returning with a higher bid of 1 million pounds. Both attempts were turned down, leaving the Swedish club to decide whether to keep pursuing him or move on to other targets.

The interest fits into a busy summer for Djurgarden, who have already brought in several new faces as they reshape their squad. Christos Almyras, Angelo Agbejoye, Daryl Tschoumy-Nana, Alexander Johansson and Lukas Jonsson have already arrived, showing that the club is active in the market.

For now, Boreham Wood are holding out, and Djurgarden face a familiar transfer dilemma: pay more, or walk away.
