Al-Hazem land DR Congo and France forward Afimico Pululu in Saudi switch
Afimico Pululu has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hazem, with the DR Congo and France forward moving from Jagiellonia Bialystok on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029. Pululu arrives in Saudi Arabia after three seasons with Jagiellonia, where he played a central role in the club’s most successful recent period.
Pululu joined the Polish side from German club SpVgg Greuther Furth in July 2023, also on a free transfer. During his first campaign in Poland, he helped Jagiellonia win the Ekstraklasa title and finished the season with 12 league goals, according to his honours record.
He added another trophy to his collection by helping Jagiellonia win the Polish Super Cup in the 2024-25 season. His performances also made an impact in Europe, as he finished as the leading scorer in the UEFA Conference League with eight goals.
Across his Ekstraklasa career, Pululu made 95 appearances, scoring 37 goals and providing 10 assists. He also recorded nine goals in 19 Conference League appearances, including qualifying matches, while contributing four assists in the competition.
The forward began his senior career in Switzerland after progressing through FC Basel’s youth system. He made a temporary switch from Basel to Neuchatel Xamax in January 2019 before returning to Basel later that year. Pululu subsequently moved to Greuther Furth in January 2022, where he spent time in German football before taking his career to Poland.
Pululu was born in Luanda and stands at 1.75m. He is listed as a centre-forward and favours his left foot, adding an experienced attacking option to Al-Hazem’s squad as the club continues its Saudi Pro League campaign.
The move also marks a new stage in a career that has included domestic honours in Switzerland and Poland, as well as European competition experience. Pululu’s record at Jagiellonia, particularly his goalscoring contribution in league and continental football, forms the key part of his credentials for the Saudi club.
Pululu’s free transfer to Al-Hazem was completed on 4 August 2026, with his new contract extending through June 2029.
