Sarasota explore move for Malawi-France striker Yann Kouakou
Malawi and France forward Yann Kouakou, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Sarasota in USL1.
The 26-year-old centre-forward left Brera Strumica on 1 July 2026 and is now the subject of reported interest from the United States club. No transfer fee or contract terms have been disclosed.
Kouakou joined Brera Strumica from Gibraltar side Europa Point FC in January 2026. During his time in the Gibraltar Football League, he made 13 appearances, scoring twice and providing two assists.
The forward has also played in Serbia’s Prva liga, Andorra’s Primera Divisio and lower-level competitions in Italy, Sweden and Poland. His career began in France, where he was part of the Paris St-Germain youth system before moving to Huesca’s under-19 side in 2018.
Kouakou is listed at 1.88m and favours his right foot. His current market valuation is €50,000, while his most recent club departure leaves him available for a possible move to Sarasota.
The proposed transfer remains a rumour, with no confirmation that an agreement has been reached between the player and the USL1 club.
