Wydad AC pushing for Thembinkosi Lorch return from Al Ittihad

Moroccan giants Wydad AC are keen on bringing back South African forward Thembinkosi Lorch from Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli as they prepare for the new season.

Wydad have reportedly made Lorch’s return a priority, with the club pushing to reunite with the experienced attacker after his departure from Casablanca last season.

The Moroccan giants believe the former Mamelodi Sundowns player can still play an important role in their plans moving forward.

Lorch joined Wydad after leaving Sundowns and quickly became an influential figure at the club, contributing with goals and assists during his time in Morocco.

His performances also saw him feature for Wydad at the FIFA Club World Cup before he later moved to Al Ittihad.

The South African forward’s switch to Libya was completed after Al Ittihad presented an attractive offer, with the move bringing an end to his spell with Wydad.

Lorch expressed his appreciation to the Moroccan club and supporters following his exit, describing his time with the team as a memorable chapter in his career.

However, Wydad are now looking to convince the 32-year-old to return and become part of their ambitions for the upcoming campaign.

The club’s management sees his experience, versatility and attacking quality as valuable assets as they aim to strengthen their squad.

Negotiations are expected to determine whether Lorch will make a return to Morocco or continue his journey with Al Ittihad, where he has already made an impact since joining the Libyan side.
