Antoine Semenyo reflects on adapting to life at Manchester City

Antoine Semenyo says settling into Manchester City has been a big step, but one he has embraced with confidence and gratitude.

Semenyo joined Manchester City on a five-and-a-half-year contract for a reported fee of £64 million. He made an immediate impact on his debut the following day, scoring once and providing an assist in a 10–1 FA Cup victory over Exeter City.

On 24 January, Semenyo scored his first Premier League goal for City in a 2–0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The winger, whose FA Cup final winner against Chelsea gave him a defining moment, described that night as a dream come true.

After returning from holiday, Semenyo reflected on how quickly his career has moved and how much he has had to adapt. He said that once you arrive at a club like City, there is no easy manual to follow, only the need to learn fast and jump in.

He also praised the support around him at the club, saying the professionalism of the staff and teammates has made the transition smoother. That backing, he suggested, has helped him feel comfortable while adjusting to the standards demanded at a title-chasing side.

The 26-year-old’s rise has been marked by that decisive cup-final goal, but he now appears focused on what comes next rather than dwelling on the moment. For City, his mindset is a useful sign that he is ready to keep building in a demanding environment.
