Juventus revive pursuit of OGC Nice teenager Xavier Junior Mandza Tsiendi

Juventus are preparing an offer of about €8m for OGC Nice midfielder Xavier Junior Mandza Tsiendi, according to L’Equipe, as the Italian club renews its efforts to sign the highly rated 17-year-old.

The Serie A side previously made an approach worth an estimated €3m before Mandza Tsiendi signed his first professional contract with OGC Nice in July. Juventus are now considering a significantly improved proposal in an attempt to persuade the French club to allow the Gabon international youth midfielder to leave.

No new formal offer has yet reached the desks of OGC Nice’s directors. However, Juventus’ continued interest in the player has been confirmed, with the club preparing a fresh move rather than abandoning its pursuit.

OGC Nice remain firmly opposed to selling Mandza Tsiendi. The club regard him as the most outstanding talent to have emerged from their academy and do not want to part with him, despite the fact that he has not yet made his senior debut.

The French club’s internal valuation of the teenager is understood to be close to €40m. That figure is considerably higher than the €8m proposal Juventus are considering, meaning the Italian side would need to make a much greater financial commitment if it is to have a realistic chance of completing a deal.

Mandza Tsiendi is under contract with OGC Nice until 30 June 2029. The length of that agreement gives the club a strong position in any negotiations and underlines the importance it places on retaining the midfielder as part of its long-term plans.

Juventus’ initial interest emerged before the player agreed his first professional terms with Nice. The proposed second approach, worth almost three times the value of the earlier offer, indicates that the Bianconeri remain determined to test the French club’s resolve.

For now, there is no official bid for OGC Nice to consider. The club’s stance, however, is clear: Mandza Tsiendi is viewed as a major investment for the future and will not be made available for a fee close to the €8m Juventus are currently weighing.

The next step rests with Juventus, who must decide whether to submit the proposed offer and, if it is rejected, whether to increase it substantially. OGC Nice’s valuation of nearly €40m means any agreement would require a significant change in the financial terms currently being discussed.
