Al Ahly linked with FC Nantes defender Ali Youssif

Libya centre-back Ali Youssif is being linked with a move from FC Nantes to Al Ahly, with the Egyptian club reportedly monitoring the 25-year-old defender. No transfer has been confirmed.

Youssif joined Nantes from Club Africain on 19 January 2026 in a deal worth €500,000 and remains under contract with the French club until 30 June 2028. His current market value is listed at €2.5m.

The defender has recorded 37 Ligue 1 appearances and scored six goals, with 3,162 minutes played in the competition. He also featured for Club Africain in the CAF Champions League before his move to Nantes.

Youssif began his senior career with Al-Ahly before joining Club Africain on a free transfer in August 2024. He helped the Tunisian side win the Tunisian championship during the 2025-26 season before moving to France.

The reported interest from Al Ahly would represent a possible return to the club for Youssif, who was previously on its books. However, his existing Nantes contract means any move would require an agreement between the clubs unless his situation changes.
