Arsène Wenger has no plans to part ways with the Arsenal Gunners, at least not in the near future. Despite rumors of a potential departure or a move to Paris Saint-Germain and criticism for his cautious approach in player recruitment, the French manager seems poised to extend his contract with the London club. Wenger has also expressed his contentment with coaching in England, emphasizing the shared passion for football and expressing gratitude to the country that welcomed him.
“I can imagine the rest of my life as a coach in England very well. I feel very happy in this country because we have a common passion for football, and I really thank this country for giving me my chance and for welcoming me as a coach,” Wenger mentioned in an interview with the free English daily Metro.
These statements underline Wenger’s strong attachment to Arsenal, indicating that he envisions no desire to take charge of another club.
Arsène Wenger took the helm at Arsenal in 1996 and quickly achieved success, securing the Cup-Championship double in 1998. Under his guidance, the team reached the UEFA Cup final in 2001 and repeated the double in 2002. The 2003-2004 season saw Wenger lead Arsenal to an unbeaten Premier League campaign, and in 2006, the team reached the UEFA Champions League final, facing Samuel Eto’o’s FC Barcelona.
In a departure from his usual transfer policy, Wenger made a significant signing this season by acquiring Mesut Özil from Real Madrid for 50 million euros.
