Widad Temara sign Morocco defender Imad Babassa on free transfer
Moroccan centre-back Imad Babassa has joined Widad Temara from FAR Reserve, completing a free transfer to the Botola Pro Inwi club.
The 21-year-old defender moved to Widad Temara on 1 August 2026 and has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2029. Babassa becomes part of a squad competing in Morocco’s top-flight Botola Pro Inwi.
Babassa was born in Marrakech on 8 March 2005 and came through the FAR Rabat youth system before moving into FAR Reserve in July 2024. He spent two years with the reserve side before making the switch to Widad Temara.
His recent record includes five appearances in the Excellence Cup, where he registered one assist and played 441 minutes. He also appears in the competition records for the Coupe du Trone Marocaine, Botola Pro Inwi and CAF Champions League.
The right-footed defender’s listed position is centre-back, giving Widad Temara a player with experience in the FAR system and domestic competition. His move was completed at the start of the 2026-27 season.
Babassa’s agreement keeps him at Widad Temara through the end of June 2029, with the club securing his services from FAR Reserve without a transfer fee.
