Haythem Mhamdi joins CS Hammam-Lif on a free transfer
Tunisia left-back Haythem Mhamdi has joined CS Hammam-Lif from Al-Fidaa SC on a free transfer, adding an experienced defender to the Ligue 1 club’s squad.
Mhamdi, 33, completed the move on 1 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with CS Hammam-Lif until 30 June 2027. He will wear the club’s number 12 shirt.
The move brings the Tunisia-born defender back to the country’s top flight after a brief spell with Al-Fidaa SC. Mhamdi joined that club from JS Omrane on 30 January 2026, also on a free transfer, before switching clubs again at the start of the 2026-27 season.
A left-footed full-back, Mhamdi has spent much of his career in Tunisian football. Before joining JS Omrane, he played for JS Kairouan, ES Metlaoui and Stade Tunisien, while earlier spells included Al-Akhdar, US Ben Guerdane and US Tataouine.
His career record includes 108 Ligue 1 appearances, along with 12 matches in the Ligue I Pro Playout competition. He has also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup and Tunisian Cup. Across those recorded competitions, Mhamdi has scored seven goals and provided 10 assists.
Mhamdi began his long sequence of club moves with Grombalia Sport before joining US Tataouine in July 2017. He then moved between Tunisian clubs on successive free transfers, including switches to US Ben Guerdane in 2020, Al-Akhdar in 2022, Stade Tunisien in 2023, ES Metlaoui in January 2024 and JS Kairouan in January 2025.
His latest move continues that run of free transfers and places him at a club competing in Ligue 1. CS Hammam-Lif have secured the services of a defender whose experience spans domestic league, cup and continental competition.
Mhamdi’s contract with CS Hammam-Lif runs through June 2027.
