Osaze Urhoghide: Wrexham linked with Dallas defender

Osaze Urhoghide, the England-Nigeria defender currently with Dallas, is being linked with a move to Wrexham.

The 26-year-old centre-back is the subject of reported transfer interest from the Championship club, with the proposed move coming as he establishes himself in Major League Soccer.

Urhoghide has made 14 appearances in 17 possible MLS matches for Dallas in 2026, starting 82% of those games. He has scored once and registered one assist, while receiving four yellow cards.

He joined Dallas from Amiens on 11 February 2025 in a deal recorded at €3m. The defender had spent the previous season in France after leaving Celtic, where he won the Scottish league title and Scottish League Cup in 2021-22.

Urhoghide began his senior career at Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Celtic in 2021. He also had loan spells with Belgian club KV Oostende during his time in Scotland.

A move to Wrexham would take him from the MLS to England’s second tier, although the rumour remains unconfirmed. Urhoghide is under contract with Dallas until 31 December 2028, meaning any deal would involve an agreement between the clubs.
