Mario Balotelli, despite his impressive record of 12 goals in 13 matches, is reportedly not well-liked by his colleagues in the Italian Serie A. In a survey of 50 Serie A players who were asked, “Who is the most highly rated player you faced in the 2012/2013 Serie A season?” the majority responded by mentioning Balotelli.
The Italian international is not alone in receiving a low rating from his peers, as Stephan El Shaarawy also appears on the list with 4% of the votes.
In addition, Nicolas Anelka and Philippe Mexès are the only French players considered overrated by their peers. Anelka, who plays for West Bromwich, has only participated in 3 Serie A matches, while Mexès has been struggling to find success in Italy since 2004.
