Chelsea leading race to sign Jordan Henderson from Brentford in surprise summer move

Chelsea have emerged as the clear frontrunners to sign Jordan Henderson from Brentford, with the England international reportedly close to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who works with Sky Sports, has revealed that Chelsea are now “very close” to reaching an agreement to bring Henderson to the club in what would be one of the most unexpected deals of the summer transfer window.

The move would reunite the former Liverpool captain with the Premier League, with Henderson understood to be open to joining Chelsea and playing under head coach Xabi Alonso.
