Anna Mena labels Ferran Torres dating speculation ‘absurd’ after Spain World Cup celebrations

Spanish singer and actress Anna Mena has firmly denied she is in a relationship with Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, dismissing reports linking the pair as “nonsense” and “really silly” after they were seen together during Spain’s 2026 World Cup victory celebrations.

Mena was speaking to reporters on Sunday after landing at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, where she directly addressed the intense speculation that has followed her appearances at Spain’s title festivities in Madrid.

From the moment she arrived in the terminal, the 27‐year‐old was asked about claims she was romantically involved with Torres, a key figure in Spain’s World Cup win in 2026.

“This is nonsense, honestly… it’s really silly,” she said, clearly irritated by the rumours that have circulated in the Spanish media in recent days.

Shirt number sparks rumours

Talk of a possible relationship gathered pace after Mena and Torres were seen at the official celebrations at Plaza de Cibeles, organised by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and later at a private party in one of Madrid’s best-known nightclubs.

Speculation intensified when images emerged of Mena wearing the Spain shirt with the number 7 – the number Torres wears for the national team – during the Cibeles event.

Asked directly why she had chosen that shirt, Mena insisted there was no hidden meaning.

“Well, that’s the shirt they gave me, I don’t know,” she replied, keen to shut down the theory that the number was a public nod to the Barcelona forward.

Her appearance in the number 7 jersey had been seized upon by sections of the media and social networks as supposed proof of a closer connection with Torres, but Mena made clear she regarded the interpretation as exaggerated and unfounded.

‘Just one of many people there’

Mena did acknowledge that she met Torres during the national team’s celebrations, but stressed that their interaction was no different from her brief encounters with other members of the Spain squad.

“There were lots of people there, and I talked to many of them,” she said, underlining that any conversation with the former Manchester City player was incidental and part of the general festivities rather than anything personal or private.

The Malaga-born performer, previously in a relationship with actor Oscar Casas, expressed frustration at the scale of the media attention surrounding her and Torres, arguing that the coverage had gone far beyond reality.

She reiterated that what was being said about her in relation to the Barcelona forward was “really silly”, signalling her desire to bring an end to the story and distance herself from the narrative that has built up since Spain lifted the World Cup.

Torres’ decisive World Cup moment

Ferran Torres was one of the central figures of Spain’s celebrations after their 2026 World Cup triumph, having scored the only goal in the final against Argentina.

His extra-time strike secured a 1-0 win and delivered Spain’s second world title, further enhancing the 26‐year‐old’s status within the national team and adding to his profile both on and off the pitch.

It was against that backdrop of national euphoria, public appearances and nightclub parties that Mena’s brief interactions with the Spain forward were captured, leading to the reports she has now sought to firmly and publicly reject.
