Morocco v Kenya: How to watch 2026 Women’s AFCON hosts begin campaign in Rabat
Morocco launch their home Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 campaign against Kenya on Sunday in Rabat, with the match being shown live in both countries.
The Group-stage fixture kicks off at 22:00 in France (21:00 local time in Morocco) at the Stade Moulay El Hassan in the Moroccan capital.
Viewers in France can watch the game on beIN Sports, while the match will be broadcast in Morocco on Arryadia and beIN Sports MENA.
In-form Morocco aim to go one step further
Morocco come into the tournament in impressive form and have not lost a match since the start of the year.
They completed their preparations with a resounding 5-0 friendly win over Cape Verde in Casablanca on 21 July, underlining their ambitions ahead of a home finals.
Runners-up at the last two editions of the Women’s AFCON, the Lionesses of the Atlas are determined to finally lift the trophy after falling at the final hurdle on both occasions.
The hosts are targeting a winning start in Rabat to set the tone for their tournament, though they are aware that an opening victory alone will not guarantee eventual success.
Advantage Morocco after 2025 friendly
Morocco and Kenya met as recently as June 2025 in a friendly, when the North Africans recorded a comprehensive 5-1 away victory over the Harambee Starlets.
That result, combined with Morocco’s current unbeaten run and growing experience on the continental stage, gives the hosts a clear advantage on paper going into Sunday’s encounter.
Kenya back on continental stage after 10-year wait
Kenya, by contrast, are returning to the Women’s AFCON for only the second time in their history, a decade on from their debut appearance in 2016.
Their first campaign proved difficult: the Harambee Starlets finished bottom of their group after losing all three of their matches, exiting the competition at the group stage without a point.
This year’s tournament offers Kenya a chance to improve on that record, but they face a daunting opening test against a Moroccan side with serious title aspirations and strong recent form.
