Napoli commit future to Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa with 2028 contract decision

Napoli have ended all speculation over the future of Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa by exercising an option to extend the Cameroon international’s contract until June 2028.

The 30-year-old midfielder had been linked with a summer move as he approached a key stage in his existing deal, attracting interest from several recruiters ahead of the next transfer window.

However, Napoli’s hierarchy have now made clear he will remain at the club. Sporting director Giovanni Manna spoke to Fabrizio Romano to underline their full backing for Zambo Anguissa and to confirm that the clause enabling his stay in Naples has been triggered.

The decision effectively closes the door on any imminent departure and signals that the Italian side see the Indomitable Lion as central to their medium-term plans.

Key Serie A figure since 2021

Zambo Anguissa joined Napoli from Fulham in 2021 and has since established himself as one of the standout central midfielders in Serie A.

Over the course of his time in Italy he has grown in influence, becoming a regular starter and closing in on the landmark of 200 appearances for the club.

Despite the contractual certainty, his situation continues to be monitored from abroad. Turkish sides Besiktas and Galatasaray are still keeping an eye on developments ahead of the summer, although the stance from Naples is that stability and continuity remain the priority.

The former Olympique de Marseille player currently has an estimated market value of €15m.

Recent form and salary details

Last season, the Yaounde-born midfielder made 22 appearances for Napoli in all competitions. During that campaign he scored four goals and provided two assists.

Zambo Anguissa earns an annual salary of €3,460,000 in Italy, which corresponds to 2,249,000,000 CFA francs.

With his contract now running to 2028, Napoli have moved decisively to protect one of their key assets and to ward off interest from potential suitors in the upcoming transfer window.
