Miguel Timm: Newly promoted Hope FC pull off shock move for ex-Orlando Pirates midfielder

Hope FC have signalled their intent to be far more than relegation battlers in the Motsepe Foundation Championship by pulling off the surprise signing of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm.

The 34-year-old has joined the newly promoted National First Division side following his recent departure from Cape Town City, becoming one of the headline additions to an increasingly ambitious squad.

Timm, who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with Pirates and has also turned out for Sekhukhune United, arrives in the second tier with a clear mandate to add experience, leadership and a winning mentality to the club.

Veteran with major trophy pedigree

Before his brief six-month stay in Cape Town, which began in January 2026, Timm spent three successful years at Orlando Pirates, making 66 appearances for the Soweto giants.

During his time with the Buccaneers, the midfielder collected four major trophies, including three consecutive MTN8 titles and a Nedbank Cup, establishing himself as a key figure in a highly competitive squad.
